Aerospace and Defense Hiring: What We See Right Now
- Commercial aviation is scaling back up. Airlines want more aircraft, and the big builders are pushing to raise output. That means steady demand for structures engineers, quality inspectors, and assembly operators. If you can read drawings and hold a tolerance, you have options.
- Defense budgets are feeding real programs. Shipyards, missile lines, and avionics shops are hiring to meet orders that run for years. Security clearances matter here. If you hold one, you can move faster and ask for more.
- Space is past the hype and into production. Launch cadence is up, and satellite builders need people who can make hardware repeatedly, not just once. Propulsion techs, test engineers, and clean room operators are in demand.
- MRO is where the steady work lives. Every aircraft flying needs maintenance, and the fleet is older than operators would like. Licensed mechanics, engine shop techs, and NDT inspectors are hard to find and worth the search.
- Unmanned systems keep pulling talent. Drones and autonomous platforms need software, flight test, and integration people who can work across hardware and code. This is where a lot of new roles are opening.
The short version: the work is real, the backlogs are long, and skilled hands are short. If you build, test, maintain, or fly these machines, now is a good time to make a move.
