Aerospace and Defense Hiring: What We See Right Now

  • Commercial aviation is back in demand. Airlines keep ordering planes, and the backlog is deep. That means more work on final assembly lines, structures, and avionics. If you have build-to-print experience or clean room skills, companies want to talk to you.
  • Defense budgets are funding new programs. Munitions, missiles, and shipboard systems are all scaling up production. Primes and their suppliers need test engineers, quality inspectors, and people who hold or can get a security clearance. A clearance is often the thing that moves your resume to the top of the stack.
  • Space is hiring for rate, not just research. The shift from one-off launches to steady manufacturing changes who gets hired. Operators who can run a line and hit cadence matter as much as the designers. Propulsion test and integration roles stay hot.
  • MRO cannot find enough hands. Aging fleets and longer service lives keep maintenance shops busy. A&P mechanics, NDT techs, and repair station staff are in short supply. Pay is climbing because the work will not wait.
  • Unmanned systems are moving from pilot projects to real orders. Drones and autonomous platforms now carry contracts with delivery dates. That pulls in software, flight test, and systems integration people who can ship hardware, not just demos.

Bottom line: production and sustainment roles are where the jobs are. If you can build, test, or fix, you have options right now.
