Where the Aerospace and Defense Jobs Are Right Now
- Commercial aviation is still clawing back lost ground. Airlines want more planes, and Boeing and Airbus cannot build them fast enough. That pressure runs straight down the supply chain. If you work in structures, avionics, or final assembly, companies need you. The holdup is not demand. It is finding people who can do the work and pass a background check.
- Defense spending is up, and it is not slowing. Shipyards, missile programs, and munitions lines are hiring hard. Clearances matter more than ever. If you already hold a Secret or TS, you have options and leverage on pay. If you do not, get your foot in the door on a cleared program and let the sponsorship follow.
- Space moved from promise to production. Launch cadence is real now, and so are satellite constellations. Companies want test engineers, propulsion techs, and manufacturing people who can hit a schedule. The startup pace is intense, so know what you are signing up for.
- MRO is the quiet winner. Aging fleets mean steady work on engines, airframes, and components. A&P mechanics are in short supply, and shops will train and relocate the right hands. This is stable work that does not depend on the next big contract.
- Unmanned systems keep growing. Drones and autonomy pull in software, controls, and flight test talent. The field rewards people who learn fast and do not wait for permission.
Pick your lane and move.
