Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ)

IDIQ

IDIQ is a federal contract vehicle that establishes a ceiling for goods or services without locking in specific quantities or delivery dates. The customer (DoD, NASA, GSA) places task orders against the master IDIQ over its life, typically 5 to 10 years with option years. Getting on the right IDIQ is a multi-year, multi-million-dollar bid effort that determines what work you can compete for over the life of the vehicle. Task orders on big IDIQs routinely run $50M to $500M. A Program Manager who has won a multi-billion-dollar IDIQ recompete commands a premium in every defense market. Roles where this matters: Program Management, Capture Management, Contracts, BD.
